Platform Chair Recognised As Industry Leader
Platform Chair and Staffordshire University Associate Professor of Film Peter Rudge has been recognised as an International Creative Industries Leader by one of the worlds’ leading innovation festivals.
Held each year in downtown Pittsburgh, Create started as a grass-roots festival of art and technology but now in partnership with Carnegie Mellon University, ZERO1 Silicon Valley and the Pittsburgh Technology Council, Create Festival has grown to become one of the leading innovation festivals in the world.
The June 2018 festival will be discussing subjects such as the future of creative cities and the economies of creative technology.
Peter was invited by the founding director of the festival Dr Kim Chestney after hearing of his work at Staffordshire University and as the Founder and Chair of Platform, the Moving Image Cluster for Stoke on Trent and Staffordshire.
Peter has been invited to be a speaker and panelist as one of the festival’s ‘International Creative Industry Leaders’.
Festival Director Kim Chestney said:
“We are thrilled to have Peter joining us for the International Creativity Summit at the 2018 CREATE! Festival in Pittsburgh. His Global Leadership in the Creative Industries is demonstrative of the transformational and innovative power of this sector.”
Peter said: “It’s always great to be recognised for your work and to receive a personal invitation from the festival director was very special. This will be a first time at the festival for me and I’m really excited to be speaking at the event, being a panellist and taking part as a workshop mentor. The list of previous speakers looks amazing so becoming part of that celebrated network will be fantastic .”
